Terms of service

These are the plain-English terms for using this website and working with Hello Web (Sabin Shah, ABN 32 836 225 107). Every project also gets a short written agreement that confirms the details. If the two ever disagree, your project agreement wins.

Prices and quotes

  • Prices on this website are in Australian dollars. Hello Web is not currently registered for GST, so no GST is added.
  • The quote calculator gives an estimate. Your final price is confirmed in writing after we chat, and a written quote is valid for 30 days.

Pay-once websites

  • 50% is due to start, and 50% when the site is ready to launch.
  • Two rounds of changes to the design are included. More changes are quoted before I do them.
  • Once paid in full, the website is yours.

$0 upfront websites

  • No build fee. You pay a monthly fee, in advance, that covers the website, hosting and a care plan: Basic with Starter ($99/month), Business care with Business ($199/month) and Pro ($249/month).
  • There's a 24-month minimum term. After that you can keep going month to month, cancel with 30 days' notice, or buy the site outright.
  • If you cancel during the first 24 months, the remaining months of the minimum term are payable.

Care plans

  • Billed monthly in advance. Cancel any time with 30 days' notice.
  • Unused edit time doesn't roll over to the next month.

Your domain and content

  • Your domain name is registered in your business name. You always own it.
  • You confirm you have the right to use any words, logos and photos you send me.
  • I may show your finished site in my portfolio unless you ask me not to.

Payments and refunds

  • Card payments are processed securely by Stripe. I never see or store your card number.
  • Pay-once websites: a 50% deposit is due before work starts, and the balance is due before the site goes live.
  • $0 upfront plans and care plans are billed monthly on the same date each month until you cancel. You can update your card, download receipts or cancel any time from Receipts & billing in your client portal. Cancelling stops future payments; the current month isn't refunded.
  • Refunds: if you change your mind before I start design work, I'll refund your deposit in full. Once design work has started, the deposit covers the work done and isn't refundable. If I can't deliver what we agreed, you get your money back for anything not delivered.
  • Card processing fees are included in my prices. I don't add a surcharge.

Referrals

If you refer a new client to me, you each get $100 off once they've paid their first invoice. It comes off your next invoice or care plan payment. It can't be swapped for cash.

The legal bit

I take care to build sites that work, but I can't guarantee search rankings, enquiry numbers or that third-party services (like Google, Cloudflare or payment providers) will always be available. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. These terms are governed by the laws of Tasmania.
